Niki•Tomi•Beto

We are extremely excited to announce our flagship film, a fiction short from acclaimed filmmaker Jon Ayon titled Niki•Tomi•Beto.

The film is a gritty, urban-Nahua, fantasy that follows four young cousins coming of age in Northeast LA. The cousins are haunted by an Aztec deity named Tlazotleotl as they navigate school, gender, and familial strife—under the looming threat of gang violence and gentrification. Tlazotleotl acts like Puck to our protagonists manipulating their gritty world with fantastical Aztec mythology. The story takes place in an imagined otherwise for a no-longer-there, there called Highland Park, CA.

We will be updating this page with more information in the coming weeks beginning with the attached cast and crew. Subscribe to our waitlist for email updates and follow us on Insta @nikitomibeto and @uncolibrifilms for more.
